This mini fortune telling deck is a rare relic from the period of the 1st World War. Better known for their postcards it was printed by Valentines of Dundee when they attempted to diversify their range at this time. Produced as a standard playing card deck with fortunes printed to the back the instruction card offers the following sage advice: ‘A successful fortune teller must use a good deal of imagination and may embellish the fortune according to fancy’
Based on the playing cards included in 'The Soldier’s Compendium' c.1915 the miniature deck (4.5 x 7cm - 1.75 x 2.75") has fortunes printed on the back and comes with an instruction card. The Cards are complete and in a vintage condition with some surface marking - THERE IS NO BOX - please see pictures in zoom for condition
